As somewhat of a knife snob, I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised by this one! I realize this is one of those white label Chinese knives that are mass produced in China and marketed under various brands. I bought this knife on sale for $49.99 (typically $99.99) along with a similar looking knife by a popular brand for $159.99. Aside from the branding and packaging, these knives are indistinguishable. I kept the Zennish knife because of the significant price difference. I am extremely impressed with this knife! The fit and finish is pretty much flawless. If the advertising is accurate, it’s made of a high-quality Japanese steel with a high Rockwell hardness. The shape of the bolster is similar to my Zwilling Pro and offers exceptional comfort and control with the pinch grip. Out of the box, it was incredibly sharp. It passed the tomato test and the paper test with flying colors and is honestly the sharpest chefs knife I’ve tried, and I’ve tested dozens. The blade profile lends itself nicely to a rocking motion, which is my preferred method of cutting. It’s also a little taller than most, which is nice for transferring product from the cutting board to the cook top. I highly recommend this knife at the price point of $49.99. I’d stay away from the brands that sell at $159.99 when you can get the same knife for less than 1/3 of the price. I look forward to seeing how this knife stands up to the test of time. Now go chop some veggies!
